HOPE NEPAL CHURCH PLANTING STORY

Hope Nepal started in 2006 when Ps Prakash returned to Nepal after 4 years working as a migrant worker in Serdang, Malaysia. Initially, he wanted to return to his village but he caught the vision to pioneer a church in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Though the living cost in Kathmandu is much higher than staying in the village, Ps Prakash trusted God to provide for him and his family. Ps Prakash pioneered the church with his family and another sister from Hope Singapore towards the end of 2016. From the 1st seed church, Hope Kathmandu supported another returnee from Hope Kuala Lumpur in 2007 and started Hope Pokhara. Every year, more returnees went back to Nepal from Hope Kuala Lumpur and they continued to pioneer new churches in their hometowns.

As Nepal is a poor country, Hope Kuala Lumpur provided a lot of mission support to the church planters in order to help them focus on doing God’s work. The support provided included living allowance support, education fund for church planter’s children and micro loans to start businesses. There were half yearly mission support trips by different teams to provide leadership training and bring encouragement to the different churches all over Nepal.

To date, there are 13 churches all over Nepal and they have a vision to saturate their entire nation with Hope churches. May this vision come to pass in the near future!
