HIM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: PASTOR SIMON ENG

Dear HIM Family!

It’s great to be able to communicate again. It’s the beginning of 2014 and the start of another incredible year with God.

Seeking the Lord's direction for 2014

As my usual practice and usual habit, I want to spend the beginning of the year to be able to go to the Lord and lay out what I desire to do and put it before the Lord. It’s so that he can guide, he can direct and he can lead me in what is to be done.

Brothers and sisters, I want to encourage you to spend some time as well. I wrote in the January prayer program with Pastor Lai Ling that we should spend some time in prayer seeking God and laying out your year before the Lord. What do you desire to do?

Roles of Pastors & Leaders

If you are a pastor, how do you desire to improve your church, the program, the people’s needs, being able to touch lives and minister to the community? If you are in the mission field somewhere, you want to look at your community, the people whom you are ministering to and seek the Lord and ask God, “What do you desire for me to do this year in this region?” If you are a team member or you are even members of the church, you want to prayerfully ask the Lord, “God, how can I contribute further? What is it that I’d like and can do for the church, to support my leaders and the program of the church?” Dear brothers and sisters, it’s the beginning of the year. I think it’s great for us to seek God so that we truly come to God and lay out what He desires to do.

Roles of members

Secondly, I think it’s good for us, after all that, to lay out a clear focus. What are the areas that we can channel our time, channel our life, channel our talent, channel our resources? What is the focus that you would like to gather this year? For me, as I visit the various regions of the world, I would like to focus my life, my time, my talent, my leadership to be able to make a difference in that region. I want to make this year count. I want to make my time with them count. I want them to be able to make their life count as they do the work of God.

Brothers and sisters, let’s go to the Lord. Let’s focus our lives and finally, let’s be able to look at our entire family of churches and say, “Lord, I want to pray that you will continue to lead us in your timing. You will lead us in your expansion. You will lead us in being able to touch more souls and bring more lives into the kingdom of God.” I think it’s a valuable thing to set before the Lord.

Have a fruitful year in 2014

In conclusion, I believe it’s good for us to really go to the Lord. It’s really necessary for us to really ask of the Lord and hear from Him. Let’s spend our year fruitfully. Let’s spend our time to advance the kingdom of God. Let’s really use our life such that we can minister to the people effectively. Make it effective. We spend the same amount of time. We go to the same number of places or more. We do what we need to do for the Lord. However, to be effective, it means we do it with the right means and see the right results as well. I pray that God will be with us right through this entire year. I greet you in the wonderful name of our Lord, Jesus Christ and have an incredible 2014!

God bless you all.

HIM PRESIDENT'S CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR MESSAGE

Hi HIM Family,

As we come to the end of the year 2013, I'd like to share with us a Christmas message and also at the same time wishing us a fantastic 2014 to come. As this is the season, let me just read from Luke 2:15. It says:

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Favor of God upon us

God appeared, the angels appeared to the shepherds - simple people without any expectation. Yet, the revelation came to them and they saw the greatness of God that night when they were in the fields. Brothers and Sisters, as we come to this Christmas season, I would like to say what the angels said to them - on earth peace to all men and let His favor rest on us. I would like to pray God's favor for all of us, that this Christmas would be a time where we see God's favor extend into the next year.

I can see from 2013, that God’s favor has been on a lot of our churches, a lot of our leaders, a lot of our church plantings, a lot of our missions. We have certainly seen growth, we have certainly seen multiplication and we can certainly see our church strengthening as well. It is God's favor. I would really like to pray that as we enter into 2014, God's favor will rest with us.

A year of harvest 2014

We talked about harvest in 2014 and I really believe the harvest is going to come, it's going to go with us, it's going to fall upon our churches and souls and lives are going to come into the kingdom of God. Get our churches ready. Get our leaders ready so that we are prepared for the harvest.

Brothers and Sisters, I truly want to thank God for all of us that have worked as a team. I thank God for our family of churches that have held together through the thick and thin. I thank God for the covenantal relationship and the friendship that I see in our family. I'm truly a thankful and joyous man to be able to see that. I pray that as we move forward, God will continue to fill our churches with the power, with the anointing, with the supernatural in our churches. Our people will begin to lay hands on the people pray and see the power of God working through our lives.

Hope and expectation for 2014

Finally, for 2014, I really want to thank God that we look into the new year with expectation and hope. We look into 2014 with a joyous sense that we are going to see more from God. Therefore, I wish the favor of God to rest with you. Bring the peace of God to your community, proclaim it, declare it in the name of Jesus, and we are going to see that in the new year, God's going to really favor us with more. God's really going to bless us with more and we will bring the Gospel and peace to our community.

May God be with you. Let God bless your family. Let God bless the household of our churches, that everybody may enjoy this wonderful Christmas and New Year with a sense of celebration. God bless you. Talk to you again in 2014.
