HOPE SINGAPORE ONE CONFERENCE

On 27 and 28 June 2015, Hope Church Singapore held the One Conference at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The theme of the event revolved around the one life we have and our one God. It was an uplifting moment when the church joined our Filipino brother as he sang the opening song "This I Believe (The Creed)" as a form of declaration of this truth.

Pastor Ed Silvoso kick-started the sessions by teaching us the four levels of involvement in the marketplace and called us to be at the fourth - to transform the marketplace. He highlighted that as the marketplace is the combination of business, education and government, changing the marketplace is essential to change the nation.

Titled One Gospel, Pastor Ron Luce urged us in his teaching to sink our roots in the gospel to be resilient Christians and to guide others in responding to the good news on a proper premise.

In the evening, Pastor Ed Silvoso shared with us how being in the marketplace is as holy as being on the pulpit and the need to connect pulpit ministers with marketplace ministers to ultimately change the nation. Many were amazed when Pastor Ed played a video about the transformation the city of ParaƱaque in Philippines has undergone; once scorned as the underdog and known for corruption and poor management, ParaƱaque now enjoys increasing peace and good leadership by leaders with integrity as the latter declared it a city dedicated to God. What an encouraging testimony of how city transformation is possible with Him!

The second day began with Pastor Ed offering us greater insights into the keys to change the spiritual climate wherever we go. He identified Jesus' 4-step strategy and taught us simple ways to impact the lost: to bless them, fellowship with them, minister to their felt needs and to proclaim the name of Jesus.

Following lunch was our special service, One Voice, which featured three short films and song presentations by our very own talented members. Many were moved to tears as the love of God that was evident in the stories of the individuals touched their hearts. Pastor Jeff spoke about the voice of God and how He speaks to us. As our Good Shepherd called out to His people, many made the decision to return to His arms that very day too!

The final teaching session by Pastor Ron led us to a better understanding and new perspectives on harvesting souls. With lessons learnt from berry picking, Pastor Ron pointed out that it is crucial to give individual attention to every soul. He added that God wants to accomplish things more amazing than we can ever dream - with us, in a divine partnership.

The conference came to an end as Pastor Shirley and team led the congregation in a ministering time of extended praise and worship. The one God in the One Conference is the same God at work in your one life. Let's make it count.
