Ablaze Glocal Legacy 2020
On 17th January 2020, over 70 youth and young adult leaders and leaders in training across Thailand and other nations gathered for ABLAZE GLOCAL LEGACY, a one-day youth leadership training intensive. There were 20 Ablaze groups from 4 nations represented at the training.
Thailand: Ablaze Chiang Mai, Ablaze Chiang Rai, Ablaze Hat Yai, Ablaze Trang, Ablaze Well of Life Bangkok, Ablaze Chonburi, Ablaze Acts of Christ Bangkok
Philippines: Ablaze Manila, Ablaze Cabuyao, Ablaze Bacoor, Ablaze Quezon City, Ablaze La Union, Ablaze San Pedro, Ablaze Bitalu
Malaysia: Ablaze Kota Kinabalu, Ablaze Kuching, Ablaze Kuala Lumpur (English and Mandarin Congregation)
Australia: Ablaze Brisbane This was the first-of-its-kind leadership development and training intensive experience.
The youth and young adult leaders learnt pace-setting best practices in key aspects of youth and young adult ministry in a local church. Since this was the first training experience of this sort, we praise God for a truly enriching time for all. Pastor Torch and Lisa Leung and other keynote speakers as well as experienced youth/young adult leaders shared practical insights to inspire all - from those starting a youth group in their church and those seeking fresh leadership insights. The plenary sessions nurtured and inspired hearts of leaders who are working directly with young people.
These were complemented with intensive Stream Sessions on Youth Discipleship and Leadership and Worship, Arts, Media (WAM) ministries. In the afternoon, Lab Sessions which are practical hands-on workshops, were also offered on a range of relevant topics such as Dealing Depression Among Youth, Effective Preaching for Young People, Capitalising Social Media to Reach Youth and Conducting An Effective Church Service for Youth to equip leaders with tools in their hands. Many enjoyed meaningful fellowship with others with the same heart for leading young people. They appreciate the joys and challenges of running “youth and young adult ministry”! The day closed with a precious time of ministering and prayer with prophetic words for each participant individually. It was edifying for all to witness so many leaders encounter Holy Spirit and be deeply encouraged!
