HIM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: PASTOR SIMON ENG

Inheritance – Part 4 (Raise the Next Generation)

Hi HIM family. My last and final sharing about Inheritance is about passing on to the next generation. In Deuteronomy 4 again, Moses was encouraging the nation of Israel that they were to pass these things on to their next generation. The quickening on that, for me and to all of us in our HIM family is begin to raise the next generation, begin to train our people. People who are 35 and below, 30 and below, 20 and below, begin to give them the training, the exposure, the experience, begin to bring them into responsibilities, every kind of responsibilities. It may be public responsibilities from the pulpit, it may be mission responsibilities out in the field, it may be operational responsibilities that we do in the church, it could be just bringing them along with us to show them how we serve, what is our DNA like and how do we commit our lives to serve the lord.

The next generation was emphasised by Moses. In my heart, I really believe this is the season in the next 5 years, lets change to raise up the next generation of leaders. As I look around our movement, a lot of our leaders are now in their 40s and 50s. In the next 10 years, we will be in our 60s, we will be in the age where we are losing a lot of physical energy and momentum. It is time for the next generation to be exposed so that they can run with vision that we have received for the next 20 years, 30 years. Our movement, our family of churches therefore, will remain extremely energetic, vibrant, and carry the vision to the next 20 and 30 years.

Brothers and sisters, I want to encourage us to look carefully at the leaders who are now in their 30s, the leaders who are now in their 20s, the youth that we have who are in the teens. I want to encourage you to put an emphasis and put a focus on them, that you are going to develop them. God will give us many more young people, that’s my belief. But our responsibility is to make sure we pass everything down faithfully to them. They are going to take God’s work to a new level. They are going to serve God in the ways that God has led them in their generation, and they are going to be the leaders of their new generation. Praise God. I believe, this is a time for us to develop our next generation. Amen.
