HIM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: PASTOR SIMON ENG

Inheritance – Part 2 (Obedience)

Hi HIM family, you remember the first video I spoke about inheritance and the book of Deuteronomy? I would like to follow from there to talk about obedience. In Deuteronomy 4, besides Moses repeating the fact that God’s going to bring them into the promised land, he told them one criteria and one condition, that is, they must faithfully obey the Lord. They must faithfully follow what God has instructed them to do. Brothers and sisters, our inheritance in God will be claimed as we faithfully continue to obey the lord. I’m convinced of this, a life of obedience brings the favour of God, brings the blessings of God into our lives.

The first generation as we all know, went out spying with Joshua and Caleb. The 12 spies came back but unfortunately, only Joshua and Caleb were convinced to obey what God has already promised to them. The rest unfortunately, led everybody else astray and they perished, they were wiped away in the wilderness. Brothers and sisters, I want to encourage us again, in claiming our inheritance, in receiving what God has given to us, I want to encourage us to truly follow faithfully what God has commanded us to do. Faithfully obey the word of God, obey the voice of the Lord, obey our leaders who speak to us because God will convince them, God will put this passion in their lives to be able to continue to really see the inheritance of regions, nations, churches, people, and resources that will be opened up to us. I sincerely believe so.

The final book of Deuteronomy even spoke about the final challenge of obedience which brings the blessings and the full favour of God or disobedience which would bring curses, which would see the condemnation of the nation again. God even told them, choose obedience and choose life. So, I want to encourage us in closing this section , we must continue to follow in obedience to the Lord. Say in your own heart, pray with your church, pray for your people and say brothers and sisters, we’re going to obey the Lord. We’re going to follow the lord.

Like Joshua said, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. I believe inheritance will come. In the next few years, you are going to see it because as we obey the Lord, as we faithfully walk in the ways of the Lord, the favour of God will open up these inheritance for us. Amen.
