HIM CHURCH PLANTING STORIES: HOPE BANGALORE, INDIA

Hi, my name is Joshua Wong. In 2007, my wife and I, along with our kids, were able to land in Bangalore, and since then we have been in Hope Bangalore for 9 years. God has been doing wonderful work in India, especially in Bangalore as well. For the first 6 years, we were still doing a lot of learning. There were times when we really struggled, as we did not know how things were going to be, and it didn’t seem like we were doing much work over there. But 3 years ago, God began to do amazing things, changing mostly ourselves, changing our hearts, and from there we started to see amazing things happened – what we prayed for, God added the right people into our midst and we have been able to break through our 20 people barrier.

At the moment, we have more than 20 people in our JDMM – they have the desire to grow and be trained in the Lord. So, we are really excited about what God is doing. Challenges are there. Over the years, different challenges arise, but we are excited because we know that God is moving in our midst. As we move on, we are very grateful for H.I.M., for the whole family of Hope from all over the world who have been praying for us.

 We want to encourage you to continue to pray for us for a few things: firstly, for my family and I to have our visas to continue our work over there; secondly, for more and more people from different states of that country to be able to capture the vision and bring the vision back to their respective states. We want to see 1,000 young people raised up for the Lord to touch this whole big country together. Thank you very much for praying for us, and we are expecting God to do wonderful amazing things in this big nation.
