CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION IN CHICAGO

Hope Chicago Church celebrated Christmas 2015 with great worship and loving fellowship. Prior to the celebration, church members fasted for three days preparing for the festivities. Our prayers were answered when the 106 people whom attended the celebration were touched by God, with four people making first time commitments for Christ. The theme of the celebration was “The True Meaning of Christmas”. This was demonstrated through the variety of presentations, performances, and activities throughout the program.

Our December 13, 2015 festivities were started by a Christmas Choir, which included special solo performances from school age children and adults. The birth of Christ was highlighted by a re-enactment of the story leading to the nativity scene. We had a special video presentation from a church members studying at the Moody Bible Institute. This depicted the persecution of the Rohinngyas in Myanmar through the work he has done with them here and abroad. Our church gave a love offering to support “Oasis Ministry” to reach out to the Rohinngya refugees.. Our guest speaker, Pastor Charoen Yatikul, gave a passionate sermon. He and his team from Thailand shared a powerful testimony. A new believer, Charuprapa is a Thai restaurant owner shared about how her life has changed since she came to know the Lord in Oct 2015.

After service, our festivities included a catered lunch, gifts for the children and seniors, special performances, and a talent show. It was a joyous time that was made special because of the love of the Lord and His Spirit in us.
