HOPE DAY - CZECH REPUBLIC

Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Hope Czech Republic was started by Dr Ondrej Sobotka who, as a medical student, received water baptism in Hope Berlin. After he went back to Czech Republic, he started a Hope church there.

From one church in Prague, it has multiplied into four churches, namely, Brno, Litomeřice and Vlašim. Hope Czech Republic had a gathering called Hope Day on 24 October in Prague with “Giving God the Best” as the theme. The main focus of the event was bonding through fellowship and learning through inspiring real life stories.

The programme started with a brunch, where brothers and sisters fellowshipped with one another in this spiritual family. After the meal, instead of the conventional approach of teaching or preaching, the participants learned about giving God the best through life stories. It was encouraging to hear a life testimony of Pavel Potsch, a shy and quiet man who became the first missionary sent out by Hope Prague.

After testimonies, Prakich was interviewed and he shared about his willingness to let go of his comfort to follow Christ because he highly valued God. He also shared that believers in Thailand, his home country, paid a high price because of persecution when they committed themselves to Jesus Christ. The day was ended with workshops where participants discussed the topics.
