HIM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: PASTOR SIMON ENG

Make Disciples...

The second key priority we must do in our HIM churches and in our family of churches. is that we must continue to multiply disciples. Disciple-making is what Jesus emphasised in Matthew 28:19-20; he says, “go into all the world, make disciples of all nations.” Making disciples is one of the least accomplished parts of the Great Commission. It’s a very challenging task, it’s a highly demanding task but I tell you, it is one of the most fulfilling task we can do as a Christian and as a Christian leader. Jesus says make disciples.

I want to encourage us in our churches, make it a priority, a high priority. Look at the people in our churches, encourage our leaders to really try and really put the effort into making disciples. What do we teach them from the Bible? What do we train them in their skills? What do we continue to mature them in their character? Disciple-making is a process that enables us to work with our people one-on-one, to personally guide them, to personally mentor them, to personally coach them towards maturity and reaching their potential in Christ. It is a highly important activity and process that we must build in our church and towards our people. I encourage you, don’t forget about this highly important aspect in our HIM family.
