HIM BANGKOK OASIS CHURCH 5TH ANNIVERSARY

On 17th May , 2015 - HIM-Bangkok Oasis Church adds another fruitful year to its exciting journey. With the theme "Increasing Measure" from 2 Peter 1:3-8, Oasis celebrated how God has grown the church both numerically and spiritually. 



The celebration featured a special presentation of the Mime, Drama and Dance Ministries. Highlighted also were the testimonies, which have always been a staple in Oasis anniversaries. However, this year was special as it featured testimonies from American, Thai, and Burmese members --- a testament to God's will for Oasis to be used to touch the nations. The guest speaker was none other than our very own, HIM-Thailand President, Pastor Chuchart, who preached more on the characters that every believer needed to have in increasing measure.



Although church attendance has reached the 200 mark, the next challenge is to remain consistent and break past this mark for a higher number. Leaders' number has reached to more than 50, and a total of seventeen ministries altogether. The church has birthed five chapels catering to men, women, youth, senior citizens, and even kids! Last year was a breakthrough year for the three campuses, namely, Stamford International University, Chulalongkorn University, and Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, through on-campus life groups that were planted.



2014-2015 was a season of evangelism, and the year witnessed the birth of Salt and Light programs. These programs are in the form of free English classes, held by groups of volunteers and used as a tool for community evangelism. Oasis' Evangelism team initiated "Each One Reach One," an avenue for sharing the gospel on the streets, at parks, and in malls to invite people to church. This is held twice a month, the program has yielded more than ten new believers.

Increase is always good, but Oasis Senior Pastor Mayette Alkuino stresses, that it is more than just statistics and numbers. To quote her, "Increasing in number is good, but better is increasing measure in our character and spiritual stature."
