HOPE OCEANIA CONVENTION 2015: HARVEST

Over the Easter long weekend, 3-6 April 2015, Hope Church Melbourne hosted the 2015 Oceania Convention (OC) at Philip Island Adventure Resort. This year’s theme was “Harvest”, inspired by Jesus’ words in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”. This year’s speakers were Pastor Wilson Lim, Pastor Brendan Kirby, Pastor Simon Eng, and guest speaker, Pastor Francis Jackson from Bangalore.

The OC began with a multimedia presentation reminding all delegates that there are 6 billion people on the planet – many whom do not know the gospel. Throughout the OC, all the speakers spoke about the Harvest: reaching, expanding, sustaining, and praying for the harvest. There was one common theme: all Christians around the world are called to win souls and build disciples for the glory of God. Pastor Francis Jackson shared his incredible testimony about the work of God in his ministry in Bangalore. Every delegate was blessed and inspired by his story.

Other than the sessions, there was a diverse range of workshops catering for every interest: creative arts, apologetics, healing evangelism and leadership training. During free time, delegates took advantage of the resort’s facilities: the Giant Swing, flying foxes and canoeing. The Shekinah ministry’s performance entertained and convicted delegates about following God’s call and heart for the Harvest.

Easter Monday marked the end of the OC with a delightful song presentation by the children and prayer for all the leaders of the Oceania churches. Now, everyone attendee is eagerly waiting for the 2016 Oceania Convention in Brisbane: “Vision 20/20”. All of us can’t wait!
