CATALYSE: DEVELOPING MINISTRY COURSE INITIATIVE

It is with joy that I present the progress of the Developing Ministry Course initiative. We have decided to focus on developing a Pastoral Counselling Course.
I have been working on the development of this Pastoral Counselling course since the CATALYSE launch in January 2011. The material is now about 70% completed and the aim is to have it ready by Dec 2014. Thereafter we do a pilot study in first half of 2015. Then I can finetune it in second half of 2015 based on the feedback given.
This is a 300-hour self-study course for spiritual leaders. The number of hours stated for each module is just an estimate. To have a better grasp of the subject, it is recommended that participants move from PC01 to PC02, PC03 and then to PC04. However, if you are helping someone with a particular problem, do look into PC04 to see if the issue is covered there. Importantly, learn and practice at your own pace.
Counselling or people-helping will not be foreign to the participants, however this material is prepared on the premise that it is a totally new area. As such, much of own reading and learning (from recommended books, websites, videos or attached notes) is provided for participants to gain a deeper knowledge of the subject. Learning in a group, especially for the module on Counselling Micro-skills and Process, is strongly encouraged as you get to engage in some of the suggested discussions, role plays and also share your experiences. Though this course is about helping others, you will also embark on the journey of self-awareness and discovery. Let the Lord speak to you and maybe even bring deeper understanding and healing. You may find yourself meditating
The synopsis and modules of the course is shown below.
