HIM PERU - PASTOR SIMON & LAI ENG VISITATION

Pastor Simon's pastoral visit to HIM Peru On Tuesday, 28 August, the brothers and sisters from Hope Peru excitedly received Pastor Simon and Lai Eng, who had travelled far to come to the South American continent for the first time. Some members even took leave from work to receive them and show them the beauty of Lima and Peru and to just simply fellowship with them. When they received them at the airport, they were very surprised to see Pastor Simon’s signature smile brighter than theirs, the hosts! 

We spent the first day in the daytime showing Pastor Simon and Lai Eng the streets in the old downtown where the government palace, Cathedral of Lima, and Municipal Palace are found. Our Peruvian brothers and sisters just loved to share so much about their country, which was received by an equally enthusiastic Pastor Simon and Lai Eng, who were listening and asking everything about Lima all the time. We had hours of great exchanges and sharing about just everything under the sun: politics, the economy, education, media and religion in Peru. We were very amazed by Pastor Simon and Lai Eng’s energy and enthusiasm!

That evening, the care group leaders had fellowship time with them over a typical hen soup called “Caldo de Gallina”. We shared our life testimonies with Pastor Simon and Lai Eng, how we came to Hope and how our lives were transformed by God and by Hope Church Lima. Pastor Simon shared his story as well and challenged us to let God’s transformation make us the disciple of Christ who will bring the power of the Gospel to the people in Peru.

On Saturday, 1 September, Pastor Simon and Lai Eng were up close and personal with the family group leaders where there was free flow of learning points for growing marriages and families as leaders.



On Sunday, 2 September, Pastor Simon preached a powerful message on “Building a Christ-centered family” where he also prayed over the families of the church. Many were touched by the Spirit during the prayer time. The leaders also had a time of prayer and seeking God for their lives and for the church. The Holy Spirit poured out such sharp words of vision, wisdom and prophecies over all of us that we all broke down in tears and were amazed at the works of the Spirit through Pastor Simon and Lai Eng. We were indeed very blessed and refreshed by the fresh words and ministry Pastor Simon and Lai Eng had brought to Hope Peru. Thank you, Pastors!
