CATALYSE UPDATE JULY 2012 @ KUCHING

Recently the Strategic Planning Team (SPT) gave an update at the recent July 2012 GC in Kuching.  Here is a summary of what our SPT chairperson, Pastor Ben shared at the leaders’ conference.

CATALYSE is our movement’s change process for 2011-2015. We set out in January 2011 with 6 priorities supported by 16 initiatives. As a global movement, our ministry now had 6 clear focuses divided into 16 key projects.

One and half years ago in the 5-year window has passed. Pastor Ben focused on the progress in the last 6 months since the last GC update. There were 5 significant updates.

First the global management team is beginning to take shape. There are still gaps to be filled but there is progress. Second, the church-planting course is being drafted. We hope to see a draft soon. Third, our cultural attributes document is in draft 2.0. This will help us shape organisational culture. Fourth, our church health assessment tool is ready for alpha testing. Hope to share more in due time. Fifth, our global partnering with NGO initiative has started a ministry network. Our folks here have been meeting at the sidelines of our GCs.

Our focus in 2012 is to nurture what has been planted. Specifically, SPT will accelerate transitioning of initiatives from SPT to staff. So SPT will focus on initiatives where the HIM staff function does not yet exist.

Here is how you can help. Pray with us for the nurturing of this change process called CATALYSE. There is a spiritual dynamic associated with this change process. Encourage CATALYSE initiative team members in your churches to move forward. We encourage each initiative member to invest one hour per week into this global change process. Finally work with us on the recruitment of the global management team. If you meet the requirements and a burden to serve with us, have a word with one of our leaders.

May God’s will be done always.
