HOPE BANGALORE, INDIA - A COMMITTED CHURCH CAMP

The 2011 Hope Bangalore Camp was themed “A Committed Church”. It was held from 30 August to 2 September at Claret Nivas, a Catholic Retreat Center, on the outskirt of the Bangalore metropolitan area.

There were 47 participants, including brothers and sisters from Hope Johor Bahru, BP, Kluang, Segamat, and Penang. Before the camp, a team of brothers and sisters from Hope JB and BP spent a week visiting New Delhi on a mission trip. Though some of them were physically tired, they continually depended on God for restoration. We also heard many testimonies of God’s healing.

Ps. Kwong Lie’s teaching on commitment stirred our hearts with a desire to commit to God and His vision. The teachings further took root in us when each group has to present a sketch to bring out the message of commitment. The afternoon station games were well planned to enhance the teaching of commitment.

Our international brothers and sisters had an opportunity to try out some vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes during the camp. The most unforgettable would be the morning and afternoon tea breaks. Due to the rain, some brothers (including Ps Kwong Lie) had the chance to play football in a muddy field.

At the end of the camp, most of us testified that we were challenged to be committed in fulfilling the Great Commission by raising Christ-centered disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in Bangalore, India and all over the world. Our lives will not be the same again.
