HOPE KAMPAR PRESENCE YOUTH CONFERENCE

How great is our God and how lavish is His blessing for each of us! This year Hope Kampar is honoured to organize Presence Youth Conference together with Kampar Pastors Fellowship. Held on 28 – 30 June, the conference welcomed 172 youth from 32 different churches. From the locals to South Korean students, we are overwhelmed by His wondrous work!

The 2-day conference themed ‘Empowered’ focused on the revival and empowerment of the youth. We are blessed to have Ps Paul Smith (Kingdom Advance Christian Centre), Ps Isaac Ling (SIBKL), Ps Voon Li (Youth With A Mission - YWAM) and Ps. Ariel Han (FGA CYC) ministering to the youth with plenary sessions and workshops. They shared how a simple bud of conviction grew to a life pursuit. These awesome speakers ignited the passion for God and His purpose.

This year we are honored to have Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports - YB Steven Sim as one of the speakers of the conference. A remarkable leader and a child of God at heart, he expounded Acts 1:8 and encouraged the youth to be bold in embodying the value of His Kingdom, to stand and be a part of this mission. ‘You are invited not as a passive citizen for the Kingdom, but witnesses and martyrs of His unstoppable mission’, says YB Steven.

Run the Race, a mission game consisting of station games representing the 7 characteristics of Holy Spirit. In the race, the participants had to complete each game to unlock the Gospel to 7 continents of the world. Through the fun-filled game, the participants were brought closer to each other and were reminded about the importance of Holy Spirit in fulfilling the Great Commission.

On the final night of conference, the message of God’s love was told through a live drama – Uncover. It depicts the life of a distinguished magician who fell apart when he lost everything he ever had. The story carries the message that life is made whole in Jesus, because the world can take all of our things, but only God’s love can make us whole. In his downfall, he uncovers the mask to be perfect and encountered the reckless love of God. For in Him, we are made whole. The evangelistic night ended in celebration of 19 responses to the love of God.

The conference ended with a ministering time by a team of young warriors from YWAM led by Ps Voon Li. Many were touched and restored by the tangible love of God. The pastors from Kampar churches prayed and commissioned all the participants with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to their respective areas and to walk out their conviction.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Act 1:8 

He has invited you to be a part of His unstoppable mission. He has given you the power. For when the Holy Spirit comes, you will receive power! The power to pray; the power to speak, the power to have an audacious faith. So, are you ready to step up and do it with God?

Special thanks to our amazing team in Kampar and everyone who had prayed and served throughout the entire Presence Youth Conference. It was such a wonderful sight to witness the body of Christ in Kampar coming together to serve the One God with one purpose.
