HOPE LEADERS CONFERENCE

Hope Leaders Conference 2017 happened from 23-25 November. This year at HLC, we had the privilege of listening to various speakers sharing on the topic of leadership. More than 200 leaders attended HLC and it was a great time for all HIM leaders, attending from all parts of Australia, to receive from God.

All the speakers delved into various aspects of how to grow in leadership. Guest speaker Ps Joshua Choi of Heartbeat Church shared from his own heart and experience, addressing the challenges of breaking past barriers and developing personal leadership. His statement of “Leadership issue is a discipline issue, discipleship issues are discipline issues and discipline issue are rooted from the heart” spoke to us tremendously.

Another guest speaker, Ps John Pearce of C3 Church shared his heart and conviction in leading a church to win souls in Australia. His personal experience and passion not only inspired the audience, but also encouraged them to step out and win more souls for God in Australia. Hope Church Brisbane’s senior pastor, Ps Wilson Lim, talked about leaders and their glass ceiling, pointing out the types glass ceilings leaders may encounter as well as practical guidance about breaking through. Different glass ceilings are revealed, and new challenges are given, by God.

We also had speakers such as Ps Lai Ling Lim, Ps Brendan Kirby, Ps Ian Foley, Ps Torch Leung and Ps Matthew Wong from different Hope Church centres to share with us. A wide range of aspects are touched on, which included staying emotionally healthy, leading the millennial generation, how Christians should intercede for today’s world, being equipped for the spiritual war, fuelling the passion of evangelism in life group and church as well as pioneering new life groups. All sessions shone so much light into leaders’ hearts and minds, changing and even challenging their perspectives in the journey of leadership.
