HOPE BRISBANE CHURCH CONFERENCE: STEP OUT

On the weekend of 19 and 20 November 2016, Hope Church Brisbane held its Church Conference “StepOut”. The theme reflected the church’s heart for every believer to step outside their comfort zones to enter into the promises of God. We were privileged to have Pastor Jeff Chong from Hope Church Singapore as the guest speaker for the conference.

Saturday began with Hope Church Brisbane’s Senior Pastor Wilson Lim teaching on how believers were called to step out. Pastor Lance followed up with “Be a Wildfire” where he likened believers to a wildfire that begins with a spark and needs fuel and the wind to fan it into flame. A panel discussion followed where the speakers all shared about the baby steps to pioneering. After lunch, all the attendees went into breakout sessions, all covering ways of stepping out: into spontaneous worship, in ministry and the marketplace, to pioneering a life group.

The Saturday evening session saw Pastor Jeff Chong share about supernatural pioneering. He shared many faith-inspiring and hilarious testimonies about Hope Church Singapore’s pioneering efforts. It inspired and convicted all the attendees to step out to pioneer because it is not by our strength, but by God’s spirit that helps us succeed in our efforts. Many hearts responded to the call to step out in faith and pioneer during altar call.

In our Sunday session, Pastor Jeff Chong shared the main message during the church service where he shared about how “You can step out”. We can do this through remembering God’s word for our lives, relying on His guidance for our future and the relationship we have with Him. It sealed the word God placed in the hearts of every attendee.

Although the weekend came to an end, what will not end is the spirit of stepping out in faith in every possible way in the hearts of every attendee of Church Conference 2016.
