HOPE ECUADOR EASTER SUNDAY

For God so he loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16

Since January this year Hope Ecuador has formed a team consisting of 3 couples who initiated a project working hand-in-hand with the Pan de Vida (PDV, or Bread of life in English) Foundation. In the project, the Foundation provides meals to about 200 beneficiaries who have been evaluated as people genuinely in need. Our team assists to impart God’s Word and to disciple the beneficiaries. The goal is to disciple and raise a community of biblical, Christ-centered and vibrant disciples who will in turn multiply disciples and communities among their families and friends. For three months, we have seen various new believing friends and families who are being identified and discipled.

On Easter Sunday, as usual we began our service by praising and worshiping the Lord with a team of volunteers from Pan de Vida (Bread of Life) and sharing the message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We then set the respective roles to receive the beneficiaries.

In the main hall of the Foundation, the team welcomed the beneficiaries and began the service leading them into a time of praise and worship. After praise and worship, the beneficiaries were gathered in their small group according to their spiritual receptivity and maturity.

The teaching of the day was entitled "The Person of Jesus Christ". We shared about the Person of Jesus, that He being fully man, out of His great love, chose to suffer and die for our sins. When Jesus resurrected on the third day, it means He overcame sin and death and He is the promised Messiah and Son of God. We, as imperfect human beings, therefore, can overcome sin and death and shall enjoy a new life with abundance and eternity when we believe and put our trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord, as promised in God’s Word.

We ended the discipleship session with prayers for new believers to experience God’s love and His power of resurrection that is at work in those who believe and for our friends to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Finally all the beneficiaries were served a lunch freshly prepared by the PDV kitchen. It was a beautiful Easter as we saw it evident that God has touched many with His love and message of salvation.
