HOPE CHILE MOTHER'S DAY BLESSING SERVICE

One Sunday before the Mother’s Day Sunday, our leader Shawn encouraged us from Luke 10 that, if we wanted to impact lives and the city of Santiago, we needed to start blessing them. Many responded positively. By divine appointment, earlier on the same week, one of the members met one group of foreign mums who are working in the city. When she shared with the other members about blessing these foreign mums who have their children in a faraway land, everyone unanimously thought it a great idea. Right after the service, every one of us discussed about the food we would prepare and the gifts we would give to the mums coming for the Mother’s Day Sunday Gathering. There was great excitement and participation among the members in the community.

On the Mother’s Day, we saw many first time friends, who are foreign mums, joining us in the Sunday Gathering. All of us were reminded by the preaching about the simple truths that God remembers us and He cares for us. We could also sense that the Holy Spirit was touching the mums as they listened with great attentiveness and responded with joy. At the end of the preaching, we took time to pray for our own mums and prayed a prayer of blessing over our new friends. The members then presented the bouquets of lilies and served the finger food prepared by them. Many mums felt touched and blessed, especially those who do not have children by their side in Santiago. We are praying that these foreign mums will know the Living God and join our church as we are embarking on starting English-speaking and Spanish-speaking groups in Santiago, Chile.
