SOUTH AMERICAN LEADERSHIP TRAINING (S.A.L.T)

The leadership teams of the three Hope churches in South America (Chile, Ecuador and Peru) came together at the end of July for the S.A.L.T Conference (South American Leadership Training). This time it was held in Quito, Ecuador.

The theme of the conference was “Being filled with the Holy Spirit”. We spent time soaking in the presence of God through praise and worship, learning to listen to Him through prayer and being still, and understanding Him through discussing and reading His Word together. As we learned more about the Person of the Holy Spirit, His purpose, His work and the manifestations of His power, all of us sensed a stronger encouragement and desire to develop a more intimate relationship with Him, and to allow His Presence and Power to move in us, transform us and touch others through us. A workshop was also conducted where the teams learned more about their personalities and allowing the Holy Spirit to mold our personalities and character so as to serve Him better.
Apart from the conference, the brothers and sisters from Peru and Chile also experienced warm Ecuadorian hospitality as they fellowshipped while visiting iconic places of interest and having fun together as a South American family.

As we move on and return to our various countries to serve the Lord, we pray that we will continue to take time to hear Him more and allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our lives and ministries so that we can move more in His Power and experience His supernatural work to a greater extent!
Latin Americans are emotional and expressive culturally. When it comes to spirituality and Jesus, we can become so emotionally driven rather than spiritually driven (spirit-driven). We want to really depend more on the Holy Spirit, to hear His prophetic Word of Knowledge and wisdom more than practicing religion just with our own minds, hands and unsanctified emotions. We to have a deeper sense of Christ’s true love and grace, to experience boldness, freshness and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. We want to see more people won to Christ rather than just serving God emotionally or conveniently. Pray with us that the Holy Spirit will move more powerfully in South America to change the old, unbiblical mindsets, break down spiritual strongholds, transform lives and show His glory!
