HIM PRESIDENT: PS SIMON ENG'S MISSION UPDATE
HIM Family, it’s time for us to communicate again.
I just want to share with you some of the exciting things that have been happening around our HIM family globally. We certainly see God stirring the momentum in our various regions. We’ve talked about the regional hubs: European hub or Asian hub, Singapore hub, Oceania hub etc. We have seen a few different things happen in the various hubs. We see God moving us into planting a lot more churches, whether it be Europe, excitingly in the Philippines, excitingly in India and in Africa. Things have been just moving forward in the various hubs. Your regional leaders or your pastors can share with you but I’m excited to see the development in these places.
I’ve been praying these last few years that God would open up new territories and new regions for us. I was so excited when I travelled with Pastor Brendan to Africa, in Liberia and DRC [Democratic Republic of Congo]. I see God really establishing this momentum. I’ve been to India this year, in Hyderabad. Besides what Pastor Kwong Lie is doing in Bangalore with his team, I see God opening up another opportunity in India, into Hyderabad. Our brother there is a really sincere brother whom I think God is going to use. We’ve seen various places, where our churches are expanding and planting a lot more life groups as well. I really believe God is opening this season for us. I want to encourage you to continue to pray and keep this DNA in our churches. I want to encourage every region to continue to believe God, continue to raise up new leaders and see many more places being planted with churches, with life groups, house churches and so on.
We have also seen our hubs develop this year. We initiated the finances momentum, for example, to allow our regions to have a greater ownership of their finances. We have revised the contributions, and the tithing that we used to give. We had talked together as a team of regional pastors with the Elder. We have seen that as a result of some of these innovations, our regional hubs and churches are able to do more in their regions and that is exciting. Together as the RP team or the Regional Pastors team, we are coming together. We are bonding better, we are eagerly wanting to do more, to move our regions, our churches further in our DNA and our mission. We see God uniting us in bonding, in learning together. We have opened ourselves to go to other places, learn from other major leaders of churches around the world. This has indeed opened our eyes to what God can do further in our movement.
I believe at this stage in July 2014, we are seeing many different exciting things happening in our churches in different regions of the world. I am continuing to pray that throughout this year, we will see God move different things in our regions further. I will communicate further with you towards the end of the year. Right at this moment, I just want to continue to invite all of us to look to the Lord and look at how we can continue advance God’s kingdom in our regions. The favour of God is with us, the power of the Holy Spirit is with us and I believe the blessings of the Lord is with us as well. There are exciting things that God wants to continue to open up to us. I have this sense in my spirit that God wants to do that.
