HOPE KL: FATHER AND DAUGHTER BANQUET

The very important first date

Fathers have a great influence on the lives of their daughters. A father makes a big difference in his daughter’s world and has a great impact on her role as a young lady.

In view of the importance of a father's role, Hope Kuala Lumpur organised the first ever Father and Daughter Banquet on 7 June this year. On that special night, the church hall was transformed into a fine dining restaurant serving 3-course meals. A total of 19 fathers and their daughters attended the dinner.

The Father & Daughter Banquet was designed as a special evening for fathers and daughters to spend a meaningful time together over a special meal. Throughout the banquet, the fathers had the opportunity to bond with their daughters while also reassuring their daughters of their commitment as a father, and affirming their daughters as young ladies. The highlight of the event was the presentation of a special purity ring to the daughters.

It was a joyful and memorable night. This special occasion provided the platform for fathers and daughters to communicate with one another. It also created a special moment for fathers and daughters to share their dreams and goals, as well as to encourage each other in achieving these dreams and goals. During the purity ring presentation, all fathers led their daughter to make a purity commitment.

One father shared that he believed the openness that his daughter has at this will only last for a season. "I hope that this special occasion will help her understand that she is valuable and will stop her from even accepting attention from a guy who doesn't treat her with the same respect," he shared.

The programme of that night included a photography session, games, "Our Dreams", "His or Her love language", "His story and Her story" and presenting the "Worth the wait" ring.

We believe that the bond the fathers develop with their daughters during real times of conversation and connection will leave a lasting impact on the lives of the girls.
