HOPE ECUADOR CELEBRATES WORLD CUP 2014

World Cup 2014 is in Brazil and soccer fever is everywhere in South America. Ecuador is in World Cup this year and we watched the first match against Switzerland together after the Sunday gathering. The Ecuadorians are very excited about World Cup and it was a great family time to bond together. We also saw visitors coming and it was a fruitful time. Although Ecuador lost 1-2 to Switzerland in the first match, I am proud of our brothers and sisters in Hope Quito who remained joyful in God.
We also watched the second match with our core team members. Ecuador won 2-1 against Honduras this time. It was an informal time as we spend time cheering for Ecuador and commenting on the match. It was a great shared experience together.

I am also planning to watch the third match with one of my sheep next week. Before the match, I am going to have lunch with him and teach him guitar. I hope to share the Bible with him too. People have been coming to our house to watch the World Cup matches recently. It is really a good time to connect and share deeper before or after the matches.

If the country you are in is also excited about World Cup 2014, I want to encourage you to use the time before or after the matches to make disciples and outreach. Use the World Cup to extend the Kingdom of God in creative ways. 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
