HOPE MANILA VALENTINE'S DAY CELEBRATION

Normally, we associate Valentine’s Day with lovers, i.e. two sweethearts having dinner at a fancy restaurant, watching movies or a concert or having a few drinks before going home.  At Hope, Valentine’s Day is about two married people renewing their vows before God. It is no longer about flowers, gifts, or dinners. It goes deeper and more spiritual.

However, it does not mean that we can't or won't celebrate Valentine’s Day in the conventional way. We just place God at the center of it. Music plays an important role in setting the proper mood for two married couples. It sets the tone as to how the night will go, i.e. fast or slow. That is why the theme of this year's celebration is "Romance & Rhythm".

For starters, our married couples were serenaded by our own brothers and sisters in Christ. Music flooded the hall as our singers lavished them with their favorite songs. All of this happened while our couples danced. Games followed after dinner, with the emcees encouraging couples to play with gusto.

Married couples need to place Jesus at the center of their relationship, and Hope helps couples to re-focus their priorities, Godly and Biblical principles that is needed to govern the family life of married couples.
