HIM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: PASTOR SIMON ENG
Greetings HIM Family,
It's great for me to share, to connect and relate with each one of you who are all over the world. Prayerfully, some of you will get to see this and be able to connect with me as I desire to connect with you in this time of communicating.
Seeking the presence of God
Recently, I've been impressed to really spend time to seek God's presence and to dwell in His presence. You know, we're very good at thinking and strategizing. We're very good at trying to come up with a lot of strategies and plans. Throughout the whole year, we are exercising our mind and thoughts a lot. But I feel that our minds are so limited, our ideas are so limited and the things that we are trying to do are so filled with just human ideas. I felt impressed to go and dwell in the presence of the Lord and I've been able to be so blessed to share with you what I've experienced.
Depending on God
Firstly, I have felt my heart being softened - softened in just being able to just depend on God, softened to just be able to say, "God I really do need you. In fact, it is your work. In fact, it is Your family. That no matter how many churches, no matter how many you've given to us, it is Your fantastic work." And my heart has been softened and humbled to know that I'm such a small instrument in the mighty hands of God. I'm so encouraged that God has touched my heart in this manner.
Strengthened by God
Secondly, being in God's presence and seeking the Lord, I've felt my heart being strengthened. You know sometimes you feel so helpless, you feel so inadequate. To be able to look at God's great work around the world, there's so much that God desires to do. But unless my heart is strengthened, unless I'm able to see things from God's perspective, who am I, to be able to touch the world in such a major way and with such a wide spectrum of needs in our churches and the global culture. I've felt my heart strengthened to know that God is in charge, that God is able to do the work through us and all our churches and families around the world. I pray that you too will be strengthened as I am strengthened. I'm encouraging you to likewise get into the presence of God and spend time seeking God so that you will be softened, so that you will be strengthened in God, not just in our own strength.
Going into the supernatural realm
Finally, as we get into the presence of God there is an opportunity opened for us to go into the realm of the supernatural. We need to draw the anointing and the supernatural power of God in order for us to reach our community, to do global mission and to evangelize to a world that has gone haywire. The supernatural power of God is able to touch any difficult situation, any hardened ground. It is the power of God. And I'm encouraging all of us to continue to seek that, continue to desire for that from God. I've felt very much touched, I've felt very much encouraged, I've felt very much strengthened, I've felt very much empowered as I continue to seek God in this manner. I'm also spending time, taking time to fast and pray so that our churches will continue to advance for the Lord in the next few years. I know that it is not through our abilities but I know that as I fast and pray and as I seek God, we are able to see God do His mission and His greater work through each one of us.
So brothers and sisters, this is the message I felt to communicate with you in this session, that you too would take the time, that you too would make the effort, and you too would get into the relationship and intimacy with God so that God speaks to you personally. Learn this, get into God’s presence and I pray that God will refresh you in a mighty way as you dwell in His presence.
