With God’s given vision of 2013 as the year of Harvest, Hope Conference this May was titled “GREATER” to acknowledge that His plans are Greater than we can fathom.
Our Senior Pastor Jeff Chong laid the foundations of this year’s theme, “Harvest: Local Global Influence”, by reminding the Church to serve as God’s prophetic voice, as his priests and his kingly influence. Our Head of Hope International Ministries, Pastor Simon Eng, preached about how the Church is appointed for a greater vision and to depend on God’s plans for harvest.

We were then blessed with
Mr Tony Tseng’s testimony of GoodTV Broadcasting Corporations, the first Christian satellite TV station in Taiwan. Sharing about how he rejected an offer that could have sustained the station for an entire year to uphold his integrity, Mr Tseng revealed his humble heart before God’s plans. This ignited the hearts of many, who flocked to be prayed for as Mr Tseng called for the next generation to aspire to making a change in the area of mass media, and to use it as a platform for evangelism.
Reverend Rick Seaward announced that he had a vision for our church on day two of the conference, one of greater dependence on God as we faced the many challenges in society, such as the increasing negative media influences. He prophesied a global harvest, calling us to flow with God and depend on him in building his Church around the world. Delegates from our daughter churches from around the world also joined us including Pastor Henry Sebata from Johannesburg who by God’s grace obtained the approval of the construction of a new church building, testifying how God has been blessing and growing all our daughter churches. A global harvest is coming to pass!

We were also graced by
Mr Richard Magnus, ex-Singapore Chief District Judge. Using the wisdom from God, he transformed the judicial system of Singapore from bottom two in the world, with hundreds of thousands of backlogged cases, to one that is ranked close to most efficient in the world. He led by example and inspired his fellow judges to do the same, showing us how we could allow our faith to impact our workplace. We also had
Ms Lim Soo Hoon, Singapore’s first female permanent secretary to share about being salt and light in the marketplace, exercising wisdom and spreading her faith in a secular environment like the government sector. She also shared her testimony of how God continued to provide throughout her son’s battle with cancer. Indeed even in the strictest of environments, God’s presence prevails.
The conference came to a close with a jam-packed Kairos night that saw many of our members with the burden for missions, showing just how strongly God is pushing us toward Harvest: Local Global Influence. Indeed, this year’s Hope Conference was truly Greater than we can even imagine.
