HOPE SINGAPORE EASTER SERVICE

Easter is about the resurrection of Christ – the old has gone and the new has come. Indeed, Hope Church Singapore experienced God in new ways this year. On 7-8 April 2012, we celebrated Easter at our brand-spanking new auditorium, The Axis. The believers were reminded to rejoice in their new lives in Christ and pre-believers who accepted the gift of salvation were reborn and transformed forever! The turnout was overwhelming. Seats at The Axis quickly filled up – from the main auditorium to the gallery.
The service began with a live sand animation show. Simple grains of sand, gracefully and purposefully shifted by the skillful hands of the sand artist, told a story that moved many – Jesus healed the sick and the blind; fed five thousand people with only five loaves of bread and two fish; was persecuted and rejected by the very people He loved; and finally, His crucifixion.
Later, the joyous praise and worship session had visitors, friends and families warming up to each other. Senior Pastor Jeff Chong then introduced everyone to two incredible testimonies taped on video.
Eng Seng and Linda’s story of how miraculous healing strengthened their faith in God was a testimony that God is real and heals the sick and the blind today. Xueping’s vulnerable sharing of her family situation showed that Jesus embraces all who seek Him.
Pastor Jeff then shared about God being an able and willing God, of how in Mark 1:40-42, Jesus Christ healed the leper both physically and emotionally – Jesus made Himself unclean so that the leper could be clean! During the altar call, many received healing and gave their lives to Christ.
Just as death was only the beginning of Jesus Christ’s ascension to the heavens, the end of the Easter service only marked the beginning of the lifelong journey that our new brothers and sisters-in-Christ will embark with Jesus Christ!
