NEW YEAR MESSAGE BY PASTOR SIMON ENG

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012 – all of us who are in HIM family all over the world! The year has started and we believe God for really exciting times ahead.

For January, I have sent out a prayer calendar where we are dedicating the month towards fasting and praying for the family of churches, focus that we want to see for our family, for our churches and for the whole year as well. I pray that God will truly lead us through these uncertain times; that we know what is falling upon us. Yet, I know there are exciting times ahead through the years ahead for us as well.

Global Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Brothers and sisters, we just concluded our January Global Conference (GC). We were in Chiang Mai, Thailand and there were about 150 overseas pastors and leaders plus another 150 leaders from Thailand - 300 of us gathering. We taught and shared about being a missional community, being a missional church - going out to, and influencing, our community, planting more churches and impacting the community. It has been a wonderful time. We also had Phil Pringle from Australia. He shared with us and challenged us in a very unconventional way about how to be missional, how to impact the community, marketplace and worship as well. We had a great time.

Supernatural Impartation from Holy Spirit

This year as we start, I am praying that God will continue, through the Holy Spirit, to work in us, growing us as leaders, growing in our role and responsibility for God as well. I believe that we are going to see a supernatural impartation from the Holy Spirit. We are not just relying on man, we are not just relying on systems, but we are going to believe God to continue through the power, through the working of the Holy Spirit, in each of our lives.

Fulfilling our DNA

I am also encouraging every one of us to keep to our DNA. Our DNA is our core values that we taught at our GC. Our DNA includes fulfilling the Great Commission, our DNA includes us discipling our people, raising Christ-centered disciples. Discipleship is a key area that I would really like us to emphasize to our people again, looking at how we can efficiently, effectively disciple our people. I am also encouraging us to continue to look at how we are going to plant churches. We have set our goals during this GC, that every year, we will look at how we are going to accomplish these goals. We believe God that by 2015, we will have 300 mission localities - we have about 200 over now. Our regional pastors are laying out their goals, their plans and again we believe God that this aspect of our DNA will be highly lived out and exemplified in the lives of our leaders and our churches as well.

Building strong leadership team

I am also encouraging us that through this entire year, we continue to raise our leadership team around us. For the regional pastors, they need to look at raising the pastors in their region. For the regional pastors and the local team pastors, they need to look at raising their core team. Brother and sisters, we continue to need a fresh team of leaders being brought in so that we can broaden our base. As we believe God that we are going to continue to grow, continue to reach new cities and new countries; we are going to require a very strong team. I am encouraging us therefore, to set some of these things in place and that we advance forward. We believe God that over the next few years ahead, we are going to see strong years of anointing for the power of the Holy Spirit, strong years of harvesting and growing, strong years of building our team, so that we are ready for what is going to come upon us.

God's extraordinary favor upon us

As we look at what is happening in the world around us, we have to be people who know the times and the season. Things are not getting better but the house of God, the church of God and the people of God are going to continue to receive His favor. We are going to continue to see the divine provision of God and I believe that as we plan to advance forward, God's favor, extraordinary favor, will be with us and His extraordinary blessing, extraordinary covering will be upon each one of us. Therefore, I am encouraging us that in this year let us really keep to the core values and DNA. Let us keep to building our leadership. Let us keep to looking at God and He will continue to empower each one of us.

I am praying that you will have a wonderful year ahead. 2012 will be a significant year, an extraordinary year and a year filled with God's supernatural happenings around us as well.
