MISSION TRIP TO NAIROBI, KENYA

On 30 September 2011, we set off on a 10-day safari (journey in Swahili) for a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Hope Nairobi has two amazing church planters, Lisa and Li Chuang, and their disciples, three devoted care leaders, Gibson, Maxwell and Evans, and a church strength of about 25 members.

We received the warmest hospitality and spent many blessed moments fellowshipping, cooking, eating, outreaching, worshipping, praying, encouraging, edifying, teaching and learning from one another.

Some activities we did include playing soccer, visiting two universities, Kenyatta University and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, to meet new friends, pray for them and invite them to our church services. The team also visited Heshima Children Centre, a school for special needs children, to teach them balloon sculpturing. In addition, we visited the families of our church members.

The greatest miracle of our trip was that God touched our hearts; both Kenyans and Singaporeans alike, through His love for us and the love receive from one another. We are convinced that the Great Commission is truly the Great Co-Mission. The God who gives us an assignment, backs us up fully with His presence and power.

Shuyi, Ryan, Kerlyn (Hope Singapore)
