PASTOR SIMON ENG MESSAGE

Hi brothers and sisters in HIM Family.

I would like to communicate with you, once again, the exciting things that we want to see for the rest of the year.

Our Mission Statement

Looking at the bigger picture, I want to remind all of us that our DNA is found in our mission statement. Our mission statement tells us what we are going to do now and for the long-term. We are fulfilling the Great Commission, we are raising Christ-centered disciples, and we are planting vibrant biblical churches both in our locality and all over the world. I would like to see this DNA imprinted clearly in all our churches. As leaders and as members, we have the responsibility to work together to ensure that our DNA is strongly built in our churches and in the lives of our people. It is important for us to focus on the ongoing building of our people and our church. We want to be people who are investing our time and our lives into fulfilling this DNA that we have been developing over the past 20 years.

HIM Strategic Plans - CATALYSE

I also want to encourage continual improvement in our churches. We have in HIM embarked on the SPT (HIM Strategic Plans) and in those five years we are going to continually improve and strengthen our movement through six initiatives that we have planned out. Some of us who have been attending the Global Conferences know that we have been emphasizing these areas as well. I also want to remind you that we want to really strengthen our local churches this year; in particular, strengthen our fundamentals.

We need to strengthen ourselves in spiritual practices that should be part of our churches. Acts 2:42-47 states that we are to be committed to the word of God, committed to prayer, and committed to expressing love; these are expressed in our core values. I want to encourage and emphasize that we should continually improve our local churches as we improve our movement as well. These are the exciting initiatives; the exciting things we want to see this year both on a global scale and in the local church setting as well.

Ten Core Values

I pray that we will continually remember that we have also shared about our core values. Our core values define who we are. I trust that you will remember the ten core values so that we will continue to build our people towards these values that will be lived out in our churches and in our lives as well.

Leadership Effectiveness

Finally brothers and sisters, I want to encourage us to focus this quarter and this next half year on really seeing that we can improve our church and improve in our leadership effectiveness and we can improve in how we can advance the Kingdom of God.

Liberia and Democratic Republic of Congo

God bless you. I am going to Africa in the month of June. I will be visiting our churches in Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I believe there is great potential in Africa and that God wants to move in our work in the African continent. Praise God.
