PASTOR SIMON ENG MESSAGE

[Hope Filipino, Singapore church anniversary]

Greetings to HIM Family

It is time again for me to share and communicate with you. I would like to share my heart with you and impart some principles and values that we can share together.

Relying on the Holy Spirit

You know, brothers and sisters, we must continually learn to draw from the Holy Spirit to have the power of the Holy Spirit help us, help our churches, help our lives, help our ministry.

I would like to continue to emphasize that we need to desperately call on the Holy Spirit to come and fill our churches and fill our lives. There are some of us who move in the Spirit: either in the gifting or dwelling in the presence of the Lord – being empowered and refreshed by the Holy Spirit. I encourage all of you to invite the Holy Spirit to really visit and really fall upon your churches. The aim is that we know the strength, the health and the direction of our churches. I encourage you on this because the Holy Spirit has done wonderful things for our churches and throughout our lives.

The Power of Prayer Life

The second area that is pressing on my heart is to continually increase in prayer. Prayer is seeking the Lord. Prayer is looking up to God and calling down God's help in prayer.

We also pray that it falls upon our churches as well. I want to encourage us to look at our prayer schedules and examine our individual prayer lives. We encourage every church to increase in the area of prayer. We have done early morning prayer on Saturday mornings (6-8am) for a period of three months, every Saturday for the past two years. We have always found that God blessed us with new visitors, new souls and new people joined the church. When we pray, God answers, God does something. I encourage us to pray so that we really get close to God. We urge you in this because we know things in our churches and our lives are solved and resolved because we prayed together as a church, we intensely increased in our prayer life and sought the Lord. I encourage us to remember this fact.

Passion for the lost souls

The third area of conviction is the need to continually meet new people. After being in a church for a long time, we forget about meeting new people; people we can evangelize to, or new people looking for a good church or looking for fellowship.

I would like to encourage us to be open. Pray and believe the Lord for divine connections. Pray that God will bring new people, new visitors into our churches, new souls that we can evangelize. With Christmas coming, it is a good time for us to work on a new project. For November and December, let us believe God that every one of our members will bring a new visitor and a new member into the church as well.

Holy Living to Honour God

The fourth and final area that I have been challenging myself and challenging our people is to live holy lives before the Lord. God honors holy living.

God honors the men and women willing to walk righteously with Him. And He will favor us when we walk right with God; when we walk righteously before the Lord.

Brothers and sisters, if we seriously aim at excelling in these four areas, they can truly be a tremendous blessing to, and have a tremendous impact on our churches. Let us depend on the Holy Spirit more, let us pray more, let us meet and invite new people to our churches more and let us challenge ourselves to live holy lives before the Lord.

Global Conference in Chiang Mai (18th-21st, Jan 2011)

Before I close this time of sharing, I would like to invite you to our January Global Conference (GC) in Chiang Mai. It is going to be an exciting time. We are going to teach about “Passion”: excelling, rejuvenating our passion. As an added attraction, we are going to host Pastor Bill Wilson, a passionate pastor based in New York, USA. He is the founder of Metro Ministries www.metroministries.org. He is going to come and preach and minister to us during the night sessions. It is going to be an exciting time.

Till the next time I see you again. God bless you.
