CHURCH PLANTING IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Hope Busselton, WA

We started church planting in Busselton in 2003. We have a heart to see strong vibrant churches both here in Busselton and throughout Western Australia. Several years ago, we travelled around Western Australia ministering in different churches. In our journey, we saw there was a lot of spiritual dryness and a great need for a strong foundation of repentance, discipleship and being filled with the Holy Spirit. So our hearts are to build these values in country areas and see strong and vibrant churches planted everywhere.

We are involved in three churches in country Western Australia: Busselton, Dandaragan and Esperance. Emma and Peter were originally with us and they moved up to another country town Dandaragan. There was no church so they started one which is wonderful. Nigel is going to tell you about our church in Esperance.

Our Esperance church came about through a contact with a friend. There was a guy called Steven Wallace who was running a life group at Esperance already. As we talked about things, he really wanted to bring his life group under Hope. Now, it has become a church and it is doing great. Attendance is around 30 people on Sunday at this stage and it is growing.

If you have a heart for country Australia, why not come to Western Australia? Come over to the bush; visit the family and our house. You will be trained up with us and become involved for a while and see what we are doing. We have a heart for the creative arts including worship and dance. We have a heart for youth and raising young people up. And we have a heart for country Australia. So we will see you here some time.

Welcome to Dandaragan. I am Peter Wilkinson and this is my beautiful wife Emma. We got married on the 3rd of October. We were very blessed by a beautiful Christian wedding in Perth. We have been here in Dandaragan since the start of last year. Emma was offered and accepted a job as a teacher to Year 4 and Year 5 students. I work on a farm about 20 minutes drive north of here.

The actual town of Dandaragan has around 200 people, but a lot of people live outside on farms. So at my school, all the kids come on buses every day. It is a really small town but there is a really strong community spirit and strong relationships in Dandaragan.
We started up a small home group around this time last year. We held it every Thursday night starting from 7:30pm. We have a time of sharing, worship, the message with prayer at the end and then supper. We really want to build on this by planting a church and trying to allow the spirit of God to grow more in this area.
We found people were really encouraged by our small group. We have been encouraged and we hope to see it grow in the future.

Hello! My name is Steven Wallace and this is my wife Helen. From this weekend onwards, we are the pastors of Hope Church Esperance. We started as a small home group. Nigel came to visit and spoke about coming under the covering of Hope. So through a time of prayer, we believed the Lord was calling us to the Hope Movement. This was confirmed through words from my own children and different revelations that God had given us. We felt that this was God’s blessing for us to join Hope.

We have been under Hope since the 23rd of November, 2008. This weekend, the 12th, 13th and 14th of March, we began our first public meeting. On Friday night, we had one of our brothers Peter minister at a healing service. We had over 70 people attending. We had a new guy come to accept Jesus and a man, the husband of a lady who comes to our church, who had not been to a church for ten years. He was inspired and encouraged by the healing service. He is now going to church every week. We had healings and people testified about God’s move. We had a lot of people that were greatly encouraged through the words of prophecy that was spoken over them.

Today we had around 40 -50 people come along on Sunday service. It was good. We had our leaders being prayed for as a group which is encouraging. We stepped out together and expecting growth in the Lord as a group of leaders.
